The purposes of this position are to plan, organize, conduct, and direct the activities of the Town¡¦s comprehensive Risk Management and Purchasing programs. S/he accomplishes this by assuming a leadership role in the Town¡¦s Loss Prevention & Control Program implementation, coordinating and administering the Town¡¦s insurance programs, working with management team on selection of property, casualty and workers¡¦ compensation insurances, monitoring and reporting on claims, coordinating safety training and chairing safety committees. S/he manages the purchasing process and bid/RFP process and maintains the fixed assets for the Town, performs a variety of other routine and complex transactions, administrative tasks, and otherwise maintains detailed records. The Purchasing and Risk Manager is required to exercise good judgment and discretion in administering the purchasing and insurance details under their control and is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her control.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a bachelor¡¦s degree in finance, Business or Public Administration, Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and have over five (5) years of experience in purchasing and/or risk management or related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
Must have and maintain: Valid Driver¡¦s License; Knowledge of the Munis system preferred.
